Some moments carry a million emotions, and this year’s 2026 Chaitra Navratri in Mohad, Kareli, Madhya Pradesh felt truly special. This village shaped my childhood, and as part of the Gadewal family, we finally had a chance to give back.
The same place once had small chabutras where we worshipped Mata Durga (Small Stone) and spent hours playing kanche and other local sports. Those carefree days of glass marble (kanche) games and simple joys defined our early years and built lasting memories.
This time, We (Gadewal Family) contributed by gifting a Maa Durga idol to the newly renovated village temple. The pran-pratishtha ceremony and havan created a deeply spiritual atmosphere filled with devotion and collective pride.
Later, I chose to spend a quiet afternoon at the temple, feeling peace in the presence of Maa Durga. Carrying my laptop, I even started working on new code, blending modern life with spiritual grounding.
Soon, my childhood friend Dassu arrived and handed me something I never expected to see again. He brought the same glass marbles we used to play with during childhood summer vacations at the old temple.
Moments That Made Us

He somehow preserved them for nearly twenty-five years, dug them out from unknown – carefully keeping a part of our shared childhood alive. Holding those marbles in the same place where we once played felt surreal and deeply emotional.
Memories flooded back instantly, connecting past and present in the most powerful way. In life, success is often measured by money or awards, but some moments redefine true value.
For me, those two small black marbles are priceless, holding more meaning than any material achievement. They are time capsules of childhood, friendship, and the journey that shaped who I am today.
With gratitude to Maa Durga, I feel blessed to give back and see my village grow with dignity. That moment reminded me that true success lies in connection, roots, and the ability to return with purpose.
