During my time at PeopleStrong, team outings played a vital role in building energy and trust. One such unforgettable experience took place in September 2016, at a resort on the outskirts of Gurgaon.
Breaking Hierarchies Through Team Bonding
The location was designed for team building and adventure activities, perfect for breaking workplace hierarchies. Such environments help teams bond naturally and create genuine icebreakers beyond titles and roles.
That day, I brought along a mystery box in my car, inviting everyone to discover it between activities. It became a fun excuse for teammates to interact and laugh outside structured schedules.
A Day Packed With Adventure
Our entire tech engineering team explored every activity the resort offered. From rappelling and rope balancing to monkey crawl and wall climbing, enthusiasm stayed high.
Zip lines, rope courses, swings, and ATV rides added adrenaline to the experience. The outing delivered exactly what startup teams need—shared challenges and shared victories.
From Lunch to Poolside Celebration
After a satisfying lunch, the group naturally gravitated toward the pool. All it took was music to trigger an unforgettable startup-style pool party.
Bollywood tracks played loudly as teammates jumped in, one after another, without hesitation. Moments like these dissolve stress and strengthen human connections at work.
Leading by Connecting People
As a team lead, I often acted as a bridge between CXO leadership and engineering teams. That included leaders like Vishal Saha and Vikas Sapra, who joined the fun wholeheartedly.
Everyone embraced the moment, including curious visits to my car to check the mystery box. There was no hierarchy that day—only shared laughter and energy.
